93 people arrested during demonstration in Los Angeles
SANAA, April 25 (YPA) – Los Angeles Police arrested 93 people during a demonstration on the campus of the University of Southern California, organized in the midst of student movements in support of the Gaza Strip.
“No injuries were reported,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a post, while police patrols in the area will continue on Thursday.
Captain Kelly Muniz said that the police assisted the university in carrying out arrests for trespassing on its property after demonstrators refused to leave.
For its part, the University of Southern California said that the protest had ended and the campus would remain closed until further notice.
“Students, faculty, staff, and people who have business on campus may enter with an ID card”, the university added.
The pro-Palestinian demonstration at the University of Southern California witnessed a confrontation between law enforcement and students demonstrating in solidarity with the Palestinians.
