UK condemns Zionist occupying entity’s decision to seize Palestinian lands in Jordan Valley

LONDON, March 28 (YPA) – Britain has strongly condemned Israel’s decision to seize thousands of acres of Palestinian land in the Jordan Valley region.

A Foreign and Development Department spokesperson said “the United Kingdom (UK) strongly condemns the Israeli government’s recent announcement to seize 1,977 acres of Palestinian land in the Jordan Valley.”

The spokesman added, in a statement on Wednesday, that the area of the region allocated for confiscation is the largest since the Oslo Accords, which were agreed upon more than 30 years ago.

This announcement comes in addition to the 652 acres of land that were identified for confiscation by Israel on February 29, which means that the year 2024 now represents an unacceptable peak in land confiscation,” according to the statement.

The UK called on the Israeli government to stop all confiscations, stressing that the British position is clear, considers the settlements illegal under international law, and only makes progress towards achieving peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians more difficult.
