World Health Organization: Gaza is suffering from famine, situation is deteriorating

GAZA, March 25 (YPA) – The World Health Organization spokesman, Tariq Yasarevic, confirmed on Monday that the situation in the Gaza Strip is becoming more deteriorating and more difficult for citizens every day.

He added that it has become necessary to find safe paths inside Gaza to provide services and care.

According to the organization’s official website, the World Health Organization spokesman said that “the Gaza Strip is suffering from famine, citizens do not receive adequate food, and there are many cases of children and pregnant women suffering from malnutrition, which affects the birth of healthy children.

Yasarevic stated that Congress’s decision to restrict funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) will lead to the largest disaster in the region and will hinder the entry of aid into the Strip.

He pointed out that the agency has all the capabilities available to bring a lot of humanitarian aid and medical supplies into Gaza, and it cannot be replaced in light of the collapse and complete destruction of the infrastructure.

The spokesman appealed to countries to continue supporting UNRWA to restore its work, access hospitals, and assist medical workers to carry out their work and provide service to citizens.
