Jack Teixeira agrees to 16-year prison sentence

WORLD, March 05 (YPA) – Jack Texiera, a worker in the US Air Force accused of leaking documents related to US defense, agreed to reduce his sentence to 16 years in prison in exchange for cooperation with the investigation.

He pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston Monday to leaking highly classified military documents about Russia’s war in Ukraine and other national security secrets, according to court documents.

Texiera is expected to serve between 11 and 16 years in prison, followed by three years of supervision. He has also been fined $50,000.

The US prosecutor agreed not to charge him with further violations of espionage law.
