SANAA, July 12 (YPA) – The Islamic resistance “Asaeb Ahl al-Haq” on Thursday announced its rejection of the presence of NATO forces in Iraq, stressing that Iraq does not need them.
“The presence of any military forces on Iraqi soil requires parliamentary authorization, and we reject the presence of any combat force on the ground,” the spokesman of Asaeb Ahl al-Haq movement Naim al-Aboudi told the RT Channel.
He added that “the presence of these forces is a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty, and Iraq does not need any force, it has an army, police and the popular crowd forces.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg announced on Wednesday that the allies agreed to launch a new training mission in Iraq, with hundreds of NATO trainers to increase the professionalism of Iraqi forces. This will be a non-combat mission led by Canada.
