BRUSSELS, Feb. 29 (YPA) – The European Parliament called for the first time for an “immediate and permanent ceasefire” in Gaza, where the Zionist entity continues its attacks.
The 2023 report was approved in the General Assembly of the European Parliament on “The situation of human rights and democracy in the world and the European Union’s policy towards it” by 265 votes to 253 against, with 10 abstentions.
The phrase “call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza” was added to Article 62 of the report at the request of members of the leftist group in the European Parliament.
“The European Union, its Member States, and the international community are called, in particular, for an urgent and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to ensure uninterrupted access to food and water for all,” the new revised and approved report said.
