12 Yemeni fishermen return to Hodeida following month of kidnapping, detention in Saudi Arabia

HODEIDA, Feb. 28 (YPA) – 12 fishermen returned to Al-Salif Fish Center in Hodeida province after a month of kidnapping and detention in Saudi prisons.

The fishermen who returned Tuesday evening explained that while they were practicing fishing in Yemeni waters on a boat, they experienced engine malfunctions, which caused them to continue sailing towards the wind until a Saudi Navy patrol detained them and took them to its prisons.

They confirmed that during the days they spent in Saudi prisons, they were subjected to investigations and poor treatment by those in charge of them, despite their certainty of the malfunctions and difficult conditions to which they were exposed.
