General strike in Socotra Island paralyzes educational process

SOCOTRA, Feb. 19 (YPA) – Members at the Faculty of Education in the UAE-controlled Socotra Archipelago province, announced on Monday the start of a partial strike in protest against living conditions.

They confirmed in a statement that the escalation comes in protest against the deteriorating living conditions and the ignoring of their human rights demands.

The statement explained that the full strike will begin in the following days if their demands are not met and their conditions are improved by the coalition-backed Aden government.
