WORLD, Feb. 14 (YPA) – First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyanskiy, confirmed that Western strikes on Yemen violate international law, and that the right to self-defense does not apply to protecting shipping.
Polyanskiy said during a session of the Security Council on the situation in the Middle East: “Such actions by Western countries constitute a direct violation of international law. The right to self-defense cannot be used to ensure freedom of navigation.”
Earlier in the day, the US-British aggression coalition waged two airstrikes on the Al-Jabana area in Yemen’s western province of Hodeidah province
This comes as part of the campaign initiated by the United States and Britain on January 12th last year, during which they launched a wide-ranging attack on sites in several Yemeni cities.
