Barghouti: Biden gave Netanyahu the green light to invade Rafah

WEST BANK, Feb. 15 (YPA) – Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative and former presidential candidate, Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, stated that US President Joe Biden has given Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the green light to begin an invasion of Rafah.

Barghouti affirmed to “jo24” website that President Biden is not serious about stopping the genocide and war on Gaza, and if he was serious, he would support a ceasefire and military operations, and would strongly put pressure on the occupation to accept a ceasefire and implement International Court of Justice decisions.

He criticized the international community’s silence regarding the massacres committed by the occupation, including the cessation of aid delivery through the crossings, especially the Rafah crossing, which is considered the only passage to the world.

Barghouti also condemned the targeting of journalists and media workers by the occupation, pointing out the journalists sustained serious injuries such as Al Jazeera correspondent Ismail Abu Omar and photojournalist Ahmed Matar.

Barghouti noted the continued brutal assaults by the occupation on Palestinian journalists in an attempt to silence their voices, resulting in the deaths of 126 journalists since October 7.

He emphasized that the occupation specifically targets Al Jazeera correspondents and their families and this is the fifth attack.

Barghouti expressed his high appreciation for the valor of Palestinian journalists who are exposing the brutal crimes of the occupation.
