US dollar records new high in Aden

ADEN, Feb. 12 (YPA) – The exchange rate of the US dollar suddenly rose Monday against the local currency in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, after Saudi Arabia announced the transfer of $250 million to the Bank of Aden.

Banking sources reported that the selling price of the dollar rose to 1,628 riyals, an increase of eight riyals per dollar in less than 24 hours.

The Saudi riyal witnessed a slight increase to reach 428 riyals in Aden, while the Yemeni riyal maintained its value against the dollar at a price of 527 riyals in Sanaa and 140 Yemeni riyals to the Saudi riyal.

Earlier today, the Bank of Aden announced the sale of $60 million at public auction next Thursday, without taking any economic reforms that would reduce the suffering of citizens and their livelihoods.
