UAE officer accused of torturing Aden detainees killed in Somalia attack

ADEN, Feb. 11 (YPA) – One of UAE officers, accused of killing and torturing detainees in secret prisons in the city of Aden, south of Yemen, was killed, along with a number of Emirati officers, in the armed attack that took place on Sunday in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.

Adel Al-Hasani Political sources, the southern political activist and former detainee in the Emirati prisons in Aden, accused the Emirati officer, Mumad bin Mubarak Al Mansouri, of killing and torturing dozens of hidden persons and detainees inside prisons and secret detention centers during the past years in the city of Aden, causing many of them to suffer disabilities and infirmities.

“I do not rule out that Al-Mansouri was liquidated so that the crime files were buried with him,” he said in a post on the “X” platform. As it is a method that is not strange to a state of conspiracies, in reference to the UAE.”

Al-Hassani pointed out that Somalia, like Yemen, is being exposed to plots under the pretext of combating terrorism, which are sponsored and supported by the UAE itself.

The so-called “Al-Shabaab Movement” in Somalia announced its responsibility for the attack that targeted the headquarters of the UAE forces at Gordon military base in Mogadishu during a meeting of almost 20 officers, including foreigners and Africans, according to the statement.
