Price of bread witnesses significant increase in Aden

ADEN, Feb. 10 (YPA) – The price of a loaf of bread has reached astronomical numbers in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition in southern Yemen.

Activists on social media confirmed on Saturday that the price of a loaf of bread “roti” reached 70 riyals during the past hours.

This comes amid an economic collapse and the deterioration of the local currency against the US dollar, whose value reached 1,635 riyals in Aden and the rest of the southern provinces.

Observers attributed the rising prices of bread in the city of Aden to the absence of state authorities monitoring the local market and arresting bread price manipulators.
