WORLD, Feb. 07 (YPA) – The US House of Representatives failed today, Wednesday, to obtain a two-thirds majority to pass a bill providing aid to ‘Israel’ that does not include aid to Ukraine.
To pass the bill, it was necessary to gain support from more than two-thirds of Congress members. Lawmakers in the House rejected the bill with a majority of 250 votes against 180, under a suspension of the rules, which prevented its passage.
Earlier, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell had indicated that the bill would not be approved by the US Congress and would not become law.
He said in a press conference that “Speaker [of the US House of Representatives, Republican Mike Johnson] made it clear to us that this will never become law.”
