ANKARA, Feb. 06 (YPA) – Two people were killed and five others injured, including three police officers, on Tuesday in an attack in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on the “X” platform that two attackers, a woman and a man, opened fire on a security checkpoint in front of Gate of the Caglayan courthouse, were arrested.
He added that what happened in front of the court complex was a “terrorist attack,” during which the perpetrators of the attack were killed, and 5 people were injured, including 3 policemen.
According to the Turkish minister’s account, the identities of the perpetrators of the operation are known to Turkish security, and they belong to an extremist leftist organization referred to as “DHKP/C,” the “Leftist Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party.”
