Sanaa holds America, Britain responsible for continuing to threaten international navigation, trade

SANAA, Feb. 05 (YPA) – The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sanaa held America and Britain responsible for the safety of maritime navigation and international trade in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and Arabian Sea, as the presence of their forces is illegal and is a form of occupation.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry denounced the US-British aggression against the capital, Sanaa, and the provinces of Sana’a, Hajjah, Saada, Taiz, and Bayda, considering the aggression a violation of international law and the purposes of the United Nations Charter.

The ministry explained that the continued American-British aggression represents a stark image of the failure of the Security Council to carry out its responsibilities to maintain international peace and security and protect civilians.

The statement stressed that the American-British aggression against the Republic of Yemen comes to permanently cover up the war crimes and genocide committed by the Zionist enemy against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip and is a failed attempt to threaten the leadership and people of Yemen because of its position supporting the oppressed Palestinian people by imposing a naval blockade on the Zionist enemy ships.

The ministry affirmed the continuation of the Yemeni people’s million-man rallies in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza, demanding the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council to continue targeting ships owned by the Zionist enemy or heading to it until the end of the Israeli aggression and the entry of humanitarian aid, food, medicine and fuel into the Gaza Strip without any obstacles.

“The American-British aggression will not deter the Republic of Yemen, which withstood nine years in the face of US-Saudi-Emirati military aggression and the blockade, from continuing its humanitarian and moral duty towards the Palestinian people,” the statement stressed.
