Israeli occupation forces destroy largest water desalination plant in Gaza City

GAZA, Feb. 04 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army destroyed on Sunday a water desalination plant in the Sudaniya area, west of Gaza City, which is the largest water desalination plant in the northwest of the Gaza Strip.

It is noteworthy that the station officially began operating in 2019 to desalinate seawater, while the project was implemented with Kuwaiti funding in 2016.

Last November, the occupation forces destroyed the only drinking water desalination plant in Khan Yunis, funded by the Sultanate of Oman, thus increasing the suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip, who lack access to safe drinking water.

According to data, the occupation army deliberately bombed the only water station that supplies the residents of the area, as residents were forced to drink salt water. This plant was opened with Omani funding in 2019 and had a production capacity of 12,000 liters per day.
