Egypt FM denies American narrative regarding developments in Red Sea

CAIRO, Jan. 29 (YPA) – Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, affirmed on Sunday that the dangers witnessed by the Red Sea are a direct result of the tension in the region due to the aggression and siege of the Zionist enemy entity on the Gaza Strip.

He denied American narrative regarding what is happening in the Red Sea in terms of attacks on Israeli ships and those cooperating with them.

This came during a news conference with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, which the two sides called for the necessity of stopping the Zionist aggressive war on Gaza.

They stressed the necessity of dealing with the roots of the crises and not just their symptoms.

Previously, Egypt has refused to join the US-led coalition to protect the Zionist ships heading to the ports and occupied Palestinian territories across the Red Sea.

On January 12, the head of the Suez Canal, Osama Rabie, confirmed that the navigation movement in the canal is regular in both directions, adding that there is no truth to what is being said in the shipping circles about temporarily suspending navigation as a result of developments in the situation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
