Sanaa condemns remarks by US envoy regarding Yemen’s position on Palestinian issue
SANAA, Jan. 28 (YPA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sanaa expressed its rejection and disapproval of the media statements of the US Special Envoy to Yemen, Timothy Lenderking, regarding the Sanaa government’s position on the Palestinian issue on Sunday.
Lenderking had said that Sanaa “chose the wrong method in punishing the international community, which has nothing to do with what is happening in the Gaza Strip.”
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry held the international community responsible for the deterioration of the situation in the region due to the unlimited political, military, material, and logistical support provided by Washington and a number of capitals loyal to the Zionist entity, including obstructing the Security Council from carrying out its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security.
The statement added, “These capitals are the ones who chose the wrong method that threatens international peace and security, and its repercussions will not be limited to the region only.”
The Foreign Ministry’s statement called on the international community to address the cause of the escalation in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea region from its roots and to work to stop the war crimes and genocide committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the Sanaa government is committed to ensuring freedom of commercial maritime navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas and that the Yemeni armed forces would continue to target ships owned by the Zionist entity or heading to the ports of occupied Palestine until the aggression against the Gaza Strip is ended and humanitarian aid, food, medicine, and fuel enter the Strip without any obstacles.
