IRGC Navy seizes foreign ship carrying smuggled fuel in Gulf

TEHRAN, Jan. 28 (YPA) – A foreign ship raising the flag of a country from Oceania loaded with two million liters of smuggled diesel fuel was seized on Sunday in the waters of the Gulf.

The ship was detained by court order 60 miles off the coast of the port of Bushehr, with its crew, consisting of 14 foreigners, after being identified, Iran-based Tasnim Agency reported, citing the Commander of the IRGC Navy’s second region Heidar Honarian Mojarad.

He added that the smuggled fuel shipment was being delivered to the National Oil Refining and Distribution Company in Bushehr.
