Meteorology expects cold weather in several Yemeni provinces in next 24 hours

SANAA, Jan. 26 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology expected on Friday cold weather in several Yemeni provinces during the coming 24 hours.

In its weather bulletin, the center predicted cold weather in the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, and Bayda.

It also indicated the possibility of fog formation in parts of the provinces of Hajjah, Mahweet, Raymah, Ibb, and Taiz during the night and early morning.

The center expected the weather to be partly cloudy to overcast skies with possibility of scattered rainfall in parts of the provinces of Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Mahweet, and Hajjah during the afternoon and evening.

According to the center, coastal areas will experience partly cloudy to overcast weather with the possibility of scattered rain on parts of the western and southern coasts and the Socotra Archipelago.

Moderate to brisk winds with speeds ranging from (12-25 knots) are expected to blow in the south of the western coast and the Bab al-Mandeb strait, causing sea turbulence and waves to rise around the Socotra Archipelago.

The desert areas will have relatively cold weather during the night and early morning and partly cloudy during the day, the center said.

It called on citizens, especially the elderly, children, and patients in mountainous areas, interior plateaus, and deserts to take the necessary precautions against the cold weather.

The Center warned citizens against being in the valleys and crossing the torrential passages during and after rainfall.
