Israeli protesters close Karem Abu Salem crossing to prevent humanitarian aid trucks

AL-QUDS, Jan. 25 (YPA) – Hundreds of Israeli demonstrators closed the Karem Abu Salem crossing on the border with the Gaza Strip to prevent the humanitarian aid trucks.

In a protest rally, the protestors demanded that aid will not be brought to Gaza until the detainees by Hamas are returned.

The Israeli ynetnews website said that among the participants in the protests were dozens of families of Israeli soldiers killed in the battles in the Gaza Strip, representatives of the families of detainees, and reserve soldiers who have been recently discharged from the army.
The demonstrators were able to bypass police checkpoints and headed through the fields to prevent humanitarian aid trucks from passing into the Strip.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that the demonstrators dispersed after about seven hours, and that only nine aid trucks were able to enter.
