OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Jan. 25 (YPA) – Zionist far-right Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu on Wednesday renewed his call for striking the Gaza Strip with a “nuclear bomb.”
“During a visit to the city of Hebron (south) of the occupied West Bank, Minister of Jerusalem Affairs and Zionist Heritage Amichai Eliyahu reiterated his call for the dropping of a nuclear weapon on the Gaza Strip,” Haaretz newspaper reported on Wednesday.
“Even in The Hague they know my position,” the newspaper quoted Eliyahu as saying during a tour in the West Bank city of Hebron, in reference to his previous call for using nuclear weapons in the Gaza Strip.
The South African legal team has included Eliyahu’s statements on the Gaza Strip in the file presented to the court.
Eliyahu made these remarks for the first time in early November of last year, sparking international backlash.
The International Court of Justice held two public hearings on January 11 and 12 as part of the preliminary proceedings for the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel, accusing Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
