Qatar: Netanyahu’s remarks obstruct and undermine mediation process

WORLD, Jan. 25 (YPA) – Qatar condemned  Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks, regarding Qatari mediation, accusing him of jeopardizing the ongoing talks.

In response to the critical remarks attributed to Netanyahu, a spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, Majed al-Ansari, strongly condemned Netanyahu’s remarks, labeling them as irresponsible and harmful to efforts aimed at “saving lives.”

If the reported remarks are found to be true, the Israeli PM would only be obstructing and undermining the mediation process, for reasons that appear to serve his political career instead of prioritizing saving innocent lives, including Israeli hostages, he wrote in a post on his X account.

He added, “ Instead of concerning himself with Qatar’s strategic relations with the United States, we hope Netanyahu decides to operate in good faith and concentrate on the release of the hostages.”

Netanyahu had considered Qatar’s role in the prisoner exchange deal with Hamas problematic, according to earlier statements.
