China’s ambassador to EU warns of consequences of US-UK operations against Yemen

WORLD, Jan. 24 (YPA) – China’s ambassador to the European Union said that the American and British operations against Yemen would worsen the situation.

The attacks on Yemen are an extension of the crisis in the Gaza Strip, Bloomberg reported, citing the Chinese envoy in Brussels.

Fu Cong pointed out that the US-UK operations would not maintain the safe passage of commercial ships but rather make the passage more dangerous.”

He affirmed that the problem cannot be solved with the approach followed by the United States and the United Kingdom.  “The strategy led by Washington against Yemen is “ineffective.”

He also urged the international community, especially the United States, to exert more influence or pressure on the Israeli authorities to stop the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza, especially civilians.
