Meteorology warns of cold climate in Yemen

SANAA, Jan. 24 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology has warned cold to relatively cold weather in a number of provinces and very active winds on the coasts during the next 24 hours.

In its weather bulletin on Wednesday, the center said that cold weather may target the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar and Bayda.

The weather is also expected to be relatively cold in the highlands of Dhalea, Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, deserts and plateaus of Hadramout and Mahra province.

According to the center, active to very active winds, ranging in speed between 15-25 knots, may blow around the Socotra Archipelago, the south of the western coast, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.

It called on citizens, especially the elderly, children, and patients in mountainous areas, interior plateaus, and deserts from to wear winter clothes as a result of cold climates.
