Foreign Ministry in Sanaa condemns US designation of Ansarallah as terrorist organization

SANAA, Jan. 18 (YPA) – The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sanaa strongly condemned the US administration’s designation of the Yemeni national component, Ansarallah, as a global terrorist organization.

 In a statement issued Wednesday evening, the Foreign Ministry criticized this classification, which confirms beyond a reasonable doubt that America is trying to pressure Sanaa because of its brave national decision towards the Zionist entity and its support for the Palestinian people in Gaza and is working to falsify facts and mislead public opinion.

The statement criticized Washington’s and Western countries’ support for the Israeli aggression and siege on Palestinian civilians in Gaza by mobilizing military forces, providing unlimited support, and using their veto power to continue war crimes.

The ministry stressed that “Sanaa’s position is principled and will not be shaken, either by enticement or intimidation, in continuing to support the Palestinian cause and alleviating the suffering of the brothers in Gaza.”

The Ministry’s statement warned that this illegal classification could intensify Yemen’s economic blockade, leading to the worst humanitarian disaster in modern history, noting that it confirms Washington’s lack of seriousness in supporting a peaceful political settlement in Yemen, bypassing international law and human rights agreements.
