ADEN, Jan. 14 (YPA) – The coalition-backed Aden government has failed to pay teachers’ dues in the city of Aden for the second month in a row, amid calls for protests as a result.
Media sources indicated that teachers’ salaries have not been paid since last December.
The sources reported that the government is experiencing economic failure due to the systematic plundering of all revenues and spending them on its officials who are outside Yemen.
The faltering disbursement of teachers’ salaries raises concerns among employees in the southern regions due to the delay in disbursement from month to month, amid deteriorating living conditions in those areas, the sources added.
The coalition factions-run provinces are witnessing an unprecedented economic collapse after government printed approximately 6 trillion Yemeni riyals without cash cover since the end of the year 2016-2021.
