Dozens of civilians killed in Israeli ongoing shelling of besieged Gaza

GAZA, Jan. 01 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation forces this evening continued to shell several areas in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the killing of several civilians and the injury of dozens of others.

Medical sources reported that several civilians were killed and others injured after Israeli warplanes targeted a group of civilians in the eastern Gaza district of Zeitoun.

Some civilians, mostly children, were also injured after an occupation drone bombed a house in the al-Maghazi refugee camp in the center of the Strip. A number of people were transported to the Al-Aqsa Hospital after being injured as a result of the occupation forces’ targeting of houses in the Nuseirat refugee camp.

Sources reported that a missile dropped by the occupation jets on a house belonging to the Ghabn family in the west of the said camp did not explode.

The occupation further fired smoke bombs in the northeastern district of Tuffah and al-Daraj areas to the east of Gaza.  Army tanks also continued to infiltrate the southwestern outskirts of the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, south of Gaza City.

An Israeli Apache helicopter also opened heavy machine gunfire targeting areas east of Khan Yunis city, south of the Strip.

The Israeli occupation continued its aggression against the Gaza Strip for the 86th day today, which has so far led to the killing of 21,822 civilians and the injury of 56,451 others, mostly children and women, in addition to thousands reported missing.
