WORLD, Dec. 31 (YPA) – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has declared that considering reconciliation or reunification with South Korea is a “mistake,” the North’s official KCNA news agency reported Sunday.
“We should not make a mistake any longer in regarding them as a counterpart for reconciliation and unification, as South Korea has declared us as its main enemy and colluded with foreign forces while seeking the collapse of our regime and unification by absorption,” Kim said at the year-end meeting of the ruling Workers’ Party’s Central Committee.
Kim also said he would no longer consider South Korea a counterpart for reconciliation and unification.
Calling for a “fundamental change” in dealing with South Korea, Kim said that relations had become between “two hostile countries” or “two countries engaged in a state of combat.”
During the five days of a plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), Kim set a goal of launching three more military spy satellites next year, after the successful launch of the country’s first military spy satellite last month.
