Palestinian Foreign Ministry welcomes South Africa’s call against occupying Zionist entity

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Dec. 30 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the call filed by the Republic of South Africa against the occupying Zionist entity for committing the crime of genocide before the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

The Foreign Ministry stressed in a statement that “Israel is the illegal occupation authority, and the statements and practices of its officials and its destructive war against our people in the Gaza Strip are genocide.”

The Ministry affirmed what South Africa presented based on Article Nine of the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of 1948 and Israel’s violation of Articles Two and Three, completely consistent with the duties of states to prevent the commission of this crime.”

The statement called on the International Court of Justice “to quickly respond to the request of friends in South Africa for interim measures in order to prevent the commission of the crime of genocide by issuing a decision to stop the aggression and open fire.
