SANAA, Dec. 17 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology expected on Sunday that weather will be extremely cold in different provinces of Yemen during the next 24 hours.
The center said, in its weather forecast, the very cold weather may sweep the provinces of Dhamar, Bayda, Amran, Sanaa, Saada, Dhalea and Ibb, with minimum temperatures ranging from zero to four degrees below zero Celsiu.
It pointed out that the cold weather would target also the highlands of Taiz, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout Plateau, Jawf, Marib, Sayun, Mahweet and Raymah, with minimum temperatures ranging between 4-8 degrees Celsius.
The center indicated the possibility of moderate to very active winds, ranging in speed between 15-25 knots, around the Socotra Archipelago, the western coast, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab Strait.
It called on citizens, especially the elderly, children, patients, and workers and farmers during the late hours of the night and early morning, to take the necessary precautions against the cold weather.
