Al-Mayadeen TV correspondent killed in Gaza
GAZA, Dec. 13 (YPA) – The government media office in Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday the killing of Al-Mayadeen TV correspondent, journalist Abdulkarim Odeh, in the Israeli bombing of the Strip, bringing the number of journalists killed to 87 since the start of the war on October 7, 2023.
Earlier, the Secretary-General of the “Reporters Without Borders” organization, Christophe Deloire, stated that he had never seen such a large number of journalists killed within such a short period of time, as happens in the war between Israel and Hamas.
On October 31, “Reporters Without Borders” filed a lawsuit before the International Criminal Court accusing Israel of committing “war crimes” against journalists in Gaza.
The organization explained that the lawsuit concerns “eight Palestinian journalists who were killed in an Israeli bombing of civilian areas in Gaza and an Israeli journalist who was killed on October 7 while covering a Hamas attack on the kibbutz in which he lived.”
The lawsuit also refers to “the deliberate destruction, in whole or in part, of the offices of more than 50 media outlets in Gaza.”
