SANAA, Dec. 13 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning warned on Wednesday of very cold weather sweeping several provinces of Yemen.
In its weather forecast, the center stated the cold wave would hit the areas of Dhamar, Bayda, Amran, Sanaa, Saada, Dhalea and Ibb, in addition to the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout Plateau, Jawf, Marib, Mahweet and Rayma.
It indicated the possibility of active winds ranging in speed between 14-25 knots around the Socotra Archipelago, the western coast, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.
The center called on the elderly, children, patients, and workers during the late hours of the night and early morning to take the necessary precautions against the effects of the extremely cold weather.
