UAE-STC factions seize large areas on Aden coast by force of arms

ADEN, Dec. 02 (YPA) – Prominent leaders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions have seized large areas on the “Lovers” Coast in the city of Aden and established construction by force of arms, informed sources said on Saturday. 

According to the sources, a leader in the STC factions, “whose name was not mentioned,” controlled the land on the coast of Abyan in the city of Aden, and began construction through a contractor to prepare his building.

Human rights activists described the process of seizing lands on the coast of Aden as “thugs,” who crossed what they called “red lines” and enlisting the support of their armed elements without any significant interference from local authorities loyal to the Saudi-led coalition.

The activists called for urgent intervention to save the remaining lands on the Abyan coast in Aden city after STC leaders seized state lands and endowments, including cemeteries.

They considered that what is currently happening in the city in terms of land seizures has never happened in the city’s history.
