UAE establishes airstrip, weapons stores in “Morra” camp in Shabwa

SHABWA, Nov. 30 (YPA) – The UAE had developed an airstrip inside the “Morra” camp in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen, a specialized military source reported on Thursday.

The source confirmed that the UAE has proceeded since last July with establishing a landing strip for aircraft inside the Morra camp, west of the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa, which it turned into a military base after expelling members of the “21st Mechanized Brigade” led by Jahdal Hanash, affiliated with the Islah Party, in August 2022.

The source explained that the UAE has created large warehouses under the mountains surrounding the camp, which is controlled by the extremist Salafist “Al-Amaliqa” factions.

This reveals the nature of the ground explosions that shook Ataq and terrified the people during the past year, in addition to the establishment of ground warehouses for weapons that were buried in the dirt.

Since the beginning of 2022, the UAE has made many military fortifications, in addition to digging trenches and establishing underground and under-mountain warehouses in Shabwa and Marib provinces.
