Israeli occupation imposes military siege on Gaza hospitals: Palestine’s Health Minister

GAZA, Nov. 18 (YPA) – Palestine’s Minister of Health, Mai al-Kaila, announced on Saturday that the Israeli occupation forces are completely besieging the Baptist and Indonesian hospitals in Gaza.

This came after the occupation began evacuating the sick and injured from Al-Shifa Hospital, despite their difficult medical conditions, after setting an hour-long deadline to evacuate the sick, wounded, displaced, and medical staff from the complex.

For his part, Dr Munir al-Bursh, the general director of hospitals in the Gaza Strip, told Al Jazeera that only 5 doctors are still in the complex to supervise the process of coordinating the exit of the 120 wounded inside out of 650.

“The premature babies are still inside the hospital, and the medical staff is in contact with the Red Cross about them,” Al-Bursh added, explaining “they are now heading toward the south, and the scenes are tragic.

This evacuation comes days after the occupation army stormed Shifa Medical Complex and surrounded it with tanks.
