SANAA, Feb. 6 (YPA) – Dozens of British human rights activists staged a rally in front of the Saudi Arabia embassy in London to protest against Saudi war crimes in Yemen, British media outlets have reported.
The protesters held banners showing solidarity to the Yemeni people and demanding the British government to halt selling weapons to Saudi government.
The rally was organized on Saturday by Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT), which is a UK-based organisation working to end the international arms trade.
“Although the weather was very cold, I have taken part with the CAAT campaign in front of the Saudi Embassy,” said Sue Hampton, one of the protesters.
“Saudi Arabia is guilty of war crimes in Yemen, and the UK government is guilty too for continuing to sell arms to Saudi-led coalition,” she said.
The Saudi-led coalition has launched thousands of air strikes on Yemen since three years, and dropped thousands of internationally prohibited UK-made cluster bombs that killed over 10,000 Yemenis, mostly children and women.
