America reinforces Israeli occupation with warships

SANAA, Oct. 19 (YPA) – The US Navy announced that the command and control ship of the US Sixth Fleet, “USS Mount Whitney (MTW),” headed on Thursday to the eastern Mediterranean to support US operations in the region.

In a statement, the Navy said that the MTW left the port of Gaeta, Italy, “to support U.S. operations.” A Navy spokesperson confirmed to Military.com that Sixth Fleet Commander, Vice Admiral Thomas E. Ishee, and his staff were aboard.

The sailing of the MTW ship came days after defense officials confirmed that the US Navy would send a second aircraft carrier strike group to the region.

The ship, based in Italy, will join the two aircraft carriers that have already been sent to the region, which are the aircraft carrier “USS Dwight D. Eisenhower” and its group of warships, and the carrier “Gerald Ford,” which has previously been deployed.
