Shura Council condemns Zionist massacres against Palestinians in Gaza

SANAA, Oct. 19 (YPA) – The Yemeni Shura Council strongly condemned the heinous acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing perpetrated by the Zionist enemy in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Council expressed its deep outrage at the appalling crime and massacre carried out by the occupying entity, which deliberately and directly targeted the Baptist Hospital. This horrific act resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives and the injury of numerous innocent civilians, including women, children, the elderly, medical personnel, and displaced individuals seeking refuge within the hospital.

The Council also strongly denounced the direct support provided by the United States to the Zionists and its endorsement of further massacres against the Palestinian people. This was exemplified by the visit of US President Joe Biden to Tel Aviv, where he seemingly condoned the arrogance and crimes of the Zionist enemy.

The statement highlighted that the Zionist enemy’s use of brutal bombing and destruction in its attempt to subjugate and displace the Palestinian people in Gaza is a desperate response to its ignominious defeat at the hands of the heroic resistance in the Al-Aqsa Storm operation.

The Shura Council stressed that the global community bears a collective responsibility to take decisive and effective measures to halt the bloodshed in Gaza, end the blockade, provide essential medical supplies, food, and water, and support the Palestinian people in their pursuit of ending the occupation and establishing an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.

The statement condemned the continued reluctance of official Arab and Islamic bodies, particularly among countries that have normalized relations with the occupying entity, as well as the Arab League. Their timid condemnation statements reflect the depth of disgrace and shame these regimes have reached and their inability to take resolute actions to curb Zionist aggression.

The statement further pointed out that the international community’s silence in the face of the atrocities committed against the Palestinian people exposes the hypocrisy of its claims regarding human rights, the freedom of nations, and their right to self-defense against aggressors and occupiers.

The Shura Council called upon the Arab and Islamic world, along with conscientious individuals worldwide, to stage protests and demonstrations in public squares and arenas to condemn Zionist aggression against Palestine and exert pressure on governments and regimes, particularly those that have normalized relations with the occupying entity, to sever diplomatic ties and expel Zionist ambassadors from Arab and Islamic capitals.

The statement urged the United Nations and the Security Council to adhere to the principles and charters governing the international system and break free from the cycle of silence regarding the heinous crimes and massacres committed against the Palestinian people. It called for a fair and just stance that supports the victims rather than the oppressors.

The statement commended the demonstrations that have taken place in the capital, Sanaa, and across various provinces to condemn the acts of aggression and affirmed their readiness to stand in solidarity with the resistance and the Palestinian people in their righteous struggle against the occupying enemy.
