Israeli occupation uses white phosphorus bombs against civilians in Gaza

LONDON, Oct. 16 (YPA) – Amnesty International confirmed on Sunday that the Israeli occupation used white phosphorus bombs in its bombing of the Gaza Strip, which is crowded with civilians.

The organization said in a statement that it was based on convincing evidence that the occupying army had taken this step.

The statement added that the verified videos and photos showed “M825 and M825A1” artillery shells, which are labeled “D528”, which is the US Department of Defense Identification Code (DODIC) for white phosphorus-based shells.

On Thursday, Human Rights Watch said that it had verified that the Israeli occupation had used phosphorous bombs in the Gaza Strip and the Lebanese border.

The Israeli army used white phosphorus bombs in the war it launched on the Gaza Strip at 2008 and 2009, as well as 2013.
