SANAA, Oct. 04 (YPA) – Ministry of Industry and Trade in Sanaa government announced on Wednesday a new decision to set fixed price for bread, calling on citizens to report any violation.
The ministry set in a statement the price of commercially sold bread at 400 Yemeni riyals ($0.75) per kg.
Mohamed Sharaf Al-Mutahhar, the Minister of Industry, explained that the reduction comes within the framework of the ministry’s careful and continuous review of food prices in global markets and other costs, and in a way that translates the directives of the revolutionary and political leadership to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
He stated that the ministry would give a period of one week to all ovens and bakeries to adhere to the new pricing in the capital Sanaa and other provinces, noting that an intensive field campaigns to monitor the extent of compliance with the new pricing by ovens and bakeries and arrest violators.
