Coalition sparks armed clashes between 2 tribes in Shabwa, Marib

SHABWA, Oct. 02 (YPA) – The coalition again sparked on Monday armed confrontations between two tribes in the provinces of Shabwa and Marib, after clashes between them that left dozens of dead and injured over the past years.

Informed tribal sources said that “confrontations exploded between the gunmen of Balharith tribe in Osailan district of Shabwa, and Al-Butahif tribe in Marib, because of the claim of each tribe to own the land of al-Farsha.

The sources added that the militants of the two tribes have fought more than 6 confrontations due to the land dispute since 2012 that left dozens of dead and injured on both sides, without putting a solution between them by successive authorities in Shabwa and Marib oil provinces.

The sources also accused leaders in the coalition factions of being behind reigniting the war between the tribes in order to serve their interests in the region.
