SANAA, Sept. 24 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expected rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, to fall on parts of Yemen provinces.
In its weather forecast, the center affirmed that the rains may fall over parts of the provicnes of Lahj, Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Shabwa, Abyan, Dhamar, Rayma, Mahweet and Hajjah.
It also predicted the scattered rainfall in parts of Mahra, Hadramaut, Bayda, Sanaa, Amran, Saada, and the eastern and southern coasts.
According to the center, “there is a possibility of active to strong winds around the Socotra Archipelago, ranging its speed from 20 to 35 knots, while moderate to active winds, with speeds reaching 10 to 20 knots, will target the southern and eastern coasts, the Gulf of Aden, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.”
It warned citizens against being in valleys and flood paths, against thunderstorms, using mobile phones, and against low horizontal visibility during rainfall.
The forecast called on fishermen, ship captains, and seafarers to take away from sea turbulence and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, as well as the southern and eastern coasts and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.
