Sanaa forces display large array of advanced weaponry during September 21 Revolution parade
SANAA, Sept. 22 (YPA)- Sanaa Armed Forces have on Thursday morning held a military parade marking the ninth anniversary of September 21 Revolution in the capital, Sanaa.
As part of the majestic military parade held in Al-Sabaeen Square, warplanes and helicopters participated and flew above Yemen’s capital city for the fist time since the Saudi-led colaition war on Yemen in 2015.
In the parade, Sanaa forces unveiled the latest productions of the Yemeni military industries of various weapons, including ballistic missiles, winged and naval missiles, air defence systems, air force and drones equipped with the latest technologies manufactured during the period of the Saudi-led aggression on Yemen.
Navy Force
The armed forces displayed display models of weapons specific to the Naval Force, including boats, missiles, and mines, some of them now revealed for the first time.
1- Sajeel: a naval winged cruise missile with a range of 180 km. It operates on solid and liquid fuel. The missile is characterised by high accuracy in hitting targets with a warhead weighing 100 kg, capable of striking any target in Red Sea.
2- The boat “Nadir,” a combat boat with maneuverability capabilities and carrying medium weapons and air defences. The boat has multiple combat missions, including intercepting moving maritime targets, boarding ships, and raiding islands.
The navy force also showcased several naval boats, including Asef 1, Asef 3, Asef 2, Malah, and Tufan boats, representing their 3 generations. Moreover, domestically manufactured maritime mines of various types, including Thaqib, Karar, Mujahid 1, Mujahid 2, Oweis, Masjor 1, Masjor 2, and Asef were displayed. A number of naval missiles, including Rubyj, Faleh, Mandab 1, Mandab 2, Asef, and Sayiad were seen in the military parade.
Air Force and Air defence Systems
In the field of air force and air defence systems, the Yemeni Armed Forces showcased a number of detection and tracking systems belonging to the Air Force and Air defence.
1- Naba’a: Radar guided missiles of various types and possessing the latest anti-jamming systems. It can operate continuously for hours before hitting the target.
2- Shafaq Radar and Afq system: a tactical system known for its accuracy in target identification and tracking at distances of up to 90 km and altitudes exceeding 35,000 feet.
3- The B-35, B-16, and B-19 radars belonging to the Air Force and Air defence were also displayed.
Some of the air defence missiles, revealed for the first time, they are as the following:
1- Miraaj missile, a new air defence missile.
2- the Barq-1 air defence missile, with a range of 50 km and an altitude of 15 km. It possesses a highly explosive fragmented warhead. The missile possesses advanced, sophisticated technologies that enable it to easily track and strike targets.
3- Barq-2 air defence missile, with a range of 70 km and an altitude of 20 km. It possesses a highly explosive fragmented warhead. The missile is used to counter close, medium, armed, unarmed, and military reconnaissance targets. It has a a high maneuverability capability, enabling it to easily pursue and target combat aircraft.
4- Saqr-2 air defence missile, with a range of 150 km and an altitude of over 10 km. It possesses a highly explosive warhead. The missile has advanced technology to counter jamming and electronic warfare and is used to intercept all types of reconnaissance aircraft and cruise missiles. The missile entered service after undergoing several tests to meet the challenges of the current stage.
Drones
The Armed Forces also showcased models of reconnaissance and combat Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAVs). They are as follows:
1- Waeed-2 armed UAV, with a range of 2,000 km and a highly explosive and fragmented warhead. It takes off from a fixed ground platform and was unveiled in the military parade.
2- The Rajoum, Rasid, Qasef-2K, Shahab, Mursad-2, Khatef-2, Raqib, Waeed-1, Waeed-2, Sammad-1, Sammad-2, and Sammad-3 drones.
Rocket Force
The missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces showcased models of their missiles and unveiled some of them for the first time.
1- Badr-4 missile: a medium-range surface-to-surface missile, operating on solid fuel, known for its high accuracy in hitting targets.
2- Miyun missile: a medium-range surface-to-sea ballistic missile, operates on solid fuel. It is capable of hitting stationary and moving maritime targets, and has immense destructive power.
3- Tankil missile system: a ground-to-ground and ground-to-sea ballistic missile system that operates on solid fuel and has a medium range.
4- Quds-4 missile: a winged, long-range surface-to-surface missile capable of accurately hitting targets and evading radar detection.
5- Aqeel missile: a long-range surface-to-surface ballistic missile, operating on liquid fuel, known for its target accuracy.
6- Tufan ballistic missile system: a strategic long-range surface-to-surface missile, operating on liquid fuel, and with high accuracy in hitting targets.
7- Matie ballistic missile: a surface-to-air missile, operating on solid fuel, characterised by its aerial maneuverability and high speed.
8- Badr Z-0 missile: a long-range surface-to-sea cruise missile capable of accurately hitting stationary, moving land, maritime targets with immense destructive power.
