Meteorology warns of weather conditions in coming hours

SANAA, Sept. 22 (YPA) – The National Meteorology Center expected, on Friday, that rain of varying intensity to hit a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.

In its weather forecast, the center predicted that rain of varying intensity to hit parts of the provinces of Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Raymah, Mahweet, Hajjah, North Lahj and West of Dhamar and Saada.

According to the center, the rain may extend to the east parts of the heights of Abyan and Shabwa, and the center, the south of Hadramout and their coasts as well as to the west heights off Tihama plain.

The center expected that the weather will be hot to very hot in the deserts and interior plateaus, with maximum temperatures ranging between 35-41 degrees Celsius, while in  the coastal areas and the Socotra archipelago it might be hot and humid  with maximum temperatures ranging between 33-38 degrees Celsius.

It also expected that moderate to brisk winds blow around the Socotra archipelago, parts of the southern and eastern coasts ranging in speed between 12-35 knots.

The center called on citizens not to be in valleys and torrent passages in areas where rain is expected, to take shelter from thunderstorms, and not to use mobile phones.

It also called on fishermen and seagoers to take the necessary precautions against sea turbulence and high waves around the Socotra archipelago and ports of  the southern and eastern coasts.
