TEHRAN, Sept. 02 (YPA) – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced early Tuesday that it launched missile strikes targeting US bases in Jordan and Iraq, hours after an attack on a US Marine Corps camp in Jordan.
According to the IRGC statement, the strikes targeted long-range drone hangars housing ‘RQ-4’ and ‘MQ-9’ unmanned aerial vehicles at Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan. The IRGC affirmed that the attack destroyed several drones, killed American pilots and technical crew members, and ignited fires at the facility. Addressing the Jordanian people, the IRGC stated that “Jordan should not serve as a home or launching pad for American atrocities.”
In Iraq, the IRGC launched an attack on the US base in Erbil, confirming it destroyed a maintenance center, technical equipment warehouses, and a spy aerostat guidance system, while setting fuel tanks ablaze and causing American casualties. The statement urged residents of Iraqi Kurdistan to prevent their territory from being used to initiate US actions.
These operations coincided with strikes carried out by the Iranian Armed Forces targeting the US Sheikh Isa facility in Bahrain, which reportedly destroyed radar installations and troop assembly areas.
