TAIZ, Sept. 20 (YPA) – The head of the so-called “Presidential Leadership Council,” loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, Rashad Al-Alimi, has approved a new brigade led by a military leader of Islah Party in Taiz province, southwest Yemen, informed sources reported on Tuesday.
Al-Alimi issued decisions to establish a new military formation in Taiz called the “Victory Brigade” and appointed the Islah-affiliated leader, Rami Al-Khulidi, as its commander after he was promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
Last year, the Islah Party formed the “Victory Brigade” within the popular forces formations affiliated with the party, before adding to it battalions from the “35th Armored Brigade”, and officially attaching it to the Taiz axis without a Republican decision to form it, before it was recently approved by Al-Alimi.
The Victory Brigade, which was formed by the Islah party to stop the expansion of the forces of its arch-rival Tariq Afash, loyal to the UAE, is located in the areas of the southern countryside of Taiz, adjacent to the western coast.
