Several EU’s ambassadors arrive in Aden

ADEN, Sept. 12 (YPA) – A number of European Union ambassadors arrived in Aden city, south of Yemen, coinciding with the arrival of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the Omani capital, Muscat.

Political sources familiar with the matter reported that the head of the Presidential Leadership Council,” Rashad Al-Alimi, received the head of the EU delegation, Gabriel Munuera Viñals, and the ambassadors of “France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Finland” who arrived in Aden from the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

The sources confirmed that the leaders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council being disturbed by Al-Alimi’s political movements, which he is carrying out with the leaders of the Islah Party in a unilateral manner that showed in public the widespread rejection of the suspicious communications deal with the UAE.

Political observers believed that international and regional movements came to advance the faltering peace process in Yemen following Sanaa’s threat to end the UN-brokered truce that the United Nations has not fulfilled any commitments regarding the humanitarian file since April 2022.

The military threats that Sanaa forces launched last month have prompted the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to hold several meetings with the Saudi ambassador to the coalition-backed government, Mohammed Al Jaber, in Riyadh, and the ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council to discuss the concerted efforts to support reaching a solution and an agreement on measures to improve living conditions in Yemen, in addition to a ceasefire at the national level, and the resumption of an inclusive political process under international auspices.

Last week, Grundberg paid a visit to the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, during which he met with Emirati officials to discuss what he called “UN-led efforts to enhance constructive dialogue with Yemeni and regional actors to resume an UN-brokered inclusive political process led by Yemen.”
