Pharmaceutical industry achieves qualitative leap in Yemen

SANAA, Sept. 11 (YPA) – The pharmaceutical industry in Sanaa-controlled areas has achieved a qualitative leap over the past seven years.

President of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, Mahdi Al-Mashat, said during the expanded meeting to inaugurate the general agricultural policy for the Tihama Plain in Hodeida province on Sunday: “Sanaa is now producing 1,818 medicinal items after it was producing only 38 items in the year 2017 AD.”

The Chairman of the Supreme Authority for Medicines and Medical Supplies in Sanaa, Dr. Ali Sharaf al-Din, confirmed in statements at the end of August that the decisions of the president and the government contributed to motivating manufacturers to expand their production lines.

He added that during the coming period, three major factories would be opened in the areas controlled by the Sanaa government.
